CIC Chair Charles Nyachae has said the commission will block the move by cabinet to set the date for the general elections. CIC also said that it is the Supreme Court that will determine the date of the next general elections and not parliament. The Catholic Church will not support decision to amend the date of the next election in the constitution. Bishop Cornelius Korir said the cabinet is sending the wrong message by changing the date from August to December. He therefore wants the elections to be held in August and not December.
