On March 4th, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will transmit provisional results through an Electronic Results Transmission (ERT) System from all polling stations to the tallying centers where they will be consolidated and reported.
Just like in the 2010 Constitution Referendum, a mobile device will be used by each presiding officer to enter the data into a specially developed mobile phone application.
This unique system will enhance transparency and trust in the General Election. It will also allow graphical reporting of provisional results data at the tally centers.
In the this Power Point presentation, IEBC Training Coordinator Andrew Limo details what journalists should know about the election results transmission system, including how to access and visualize provisional results.
