Bensouda takes hard line on Uhuru ICC case
ICC Chief Prosecutor is still taking a hard line on President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta and insisting he must face an ICC trial from July 9 despite the withdrawal of charges against his co-accused Francis Muthaura. In an eight page submission to trial judges late on Wednesday night, Bensouda said that "the withdrawal has no legal impact on Mr Kenyatta’s case". Bensouda said that Uhuru is accused of being “in charge of the provision of financial and logistical support to the direct perpetrators" (the Mungiki).
