MPs give Truth team Another nine months
Kenyans will not know the findings of the truth team before the next General Election. The Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission’s term has been extended by a further nine months to enable it to complete its report. Parliament passed the extension at the resumption of its sittings on Tuesday, but not without opposition by some MPs who said it would not be in the best interests of the country. Ikolomani MP Boni Khalwale said the intention of having the report within two years was to inform the forthcoming elections. He demanded an interim report from the commission
