Travel grant opportunity for print and radio journalists

Pre election violence has yet again claimed lives in various parts of the country with several organizations cautioning that the situation might get worse as we get close to the general elections. So far over 100 people have been reported killed in Tana Delta according to the government. These events have been allegedly politically instigated. 

In Mombasa violent attacks looting and killings were witnessed in Mombasa following the Killing of Sheikh  Aboud Rogo by unidentified gunmen. A lot of property was damaged including number of churches.

Prior to elections underlying tensions that have always been witnessed and last time this culminated into violence.

It has also been reported that Narok is witnessing hostility among the communities.

Due to this the L&CSJ project is making a call for Travel Grant applications for Print and Radio journalists to the two areas:

  1. Tana Delta
  2. Narok.
