Crude Oil Qualities in Kenya

In Block 10BB, Tullow Oil and Africa Oil have successfully flowed oil in five zones, encountering high quality sweet waxy oil with good quality reservoir sands.[1] According to Tullow's half yearly report released in July 2013, the crude oil discovered has an API of between 25 and 35 degrees.[2] Tullow CEO Aidan Heavey confirmed that there was no indication of pressure depletion.[3] Reports from Africa Oil indicate crude oil findings with an API of 37 degrees and 23 - 29 percent porosity.[4]
