Amended Witness Protection Act published

An act which will establish a powerful agency that can relocate people with vital information has been published on June, 8 2010.
The new agency will provide the framework and procedures for special protection for people in possession of important information, as well as those facing the potential risk of intimidation. It will be able to arrest and detain people who pose a threat to witnesses. It is supposed to secure the lives of witnesses who are expected to testify in the ICC trials of the 2008 post election violence. Ms. Alice Ondiek will lead the new agency.
