Counterfeits and original drugs have high semblance levels that even experienced medics may not tell the difference and consumers usually will not tell whether they’ve been treated with a counterfeit drug, however, Telkom Kenya has launched a programme to help consumers identify counterfeit drugs by sending the serial number on a medicine packet to an sms code 1393 and getting an immediate response.
