Disappearance of Malaria Mosquito Leaves Researchers Puzzled
The incidence of malaria in many African countries south of Sahara is rapidly falling. A research group has discovered that the mosquito carrying the malaria parasite has disappeared from villages without any organized mosquito control. Dan Meyrowitsch explains that the99 per cent fall in malaria mosquito population during the end of the 1990’s seems to be connected to a fall in precipitation due to the global climate changes.
