Door Opens for GMO Mosquito

Treated mosquito nets are used in Kenya as a way of controlling malaria. However, a study in a Senegalese village showed that mosquitoes are rapidly developing a resistance to the key ingredient used to treat the nets. The research also revealed that nets reduced the immunity of adults and older children to malaria infection. Scientists on the other hand are exploring other methods to eliminate malaria.
