According to the acting director of Medicines Sans Frontier, Dagahaey refugee hospital an average of six children are born per day at the hospital which serves a population of around 120,000, bearing in mind that most households at the refugee camp give birth to large number of children, and with the main concern being basic primary health care, family planning and issues of reproductive health are not practiced.
