TJRC commissioners were moved by chilling accounts of police brutality that left many youths dead in South Rift during the 2007/8 PEV. Residents narrated how the police fired at unarmed citizens and want the arrest and prosecution of the officers responsible for the deaths of innocent protesters.

The TJRC has published the calender of its public hearings in the Rift Valley. The hearings start on 23rd September in Nakuru and will end on 26th October in Baringo. The venues where the hearings will be conducted and the commissioners inlvoved have also been communicated.
