Jacinta Mwatela statement on land issue in Taita Taveta county

While addressing hundreds of residents at Wundanyi matatu stage, Ms Jacinta Mwatela who is an aspiring governor for Taita Taveta county pointed out that Sarova Saltlick Game lodge and Kenya Wildlife Services have grabbed huge acres of local community land and has largely contributed to the issue of land in the county.

Her words could stir more conflict in the area especially because most resident adjacent to the alleged grabbed land are currently in conflict with KWS and the lodge management.

Land issue is currently a very sensitive issue in the period leading to the general elections.
